Media Center Policies

Media Center Policies and Procedures

Check out policy

Kindergarten: One book at a time.

First Grade: Two books at a time. *When doing a special project, students may be allowed more books at the discretion of the media specialist.

Second Grade through Sixth Grade: Three books at a time. *When doing a special project, students may be allowed more books at the discretion of the media specialist.

Books are checked out for one six-day cycle.  If students want to keep a book longer, they will need to bring the book in at their next library time to renew it.

Students are required to bring their library folders in order to check out books.  This folder is their "library card" since it contains their student ID number.

Overdue and Damaged Books

When a student checks out a book, it is his/her responsibility to return the book in good condition.

A book will be declared lost after it is missing for thirty days.  The cost of a damaged item will be assessed at the time the item is returned.

Books may be paid for using InTouch through Infinite Campus.  This is the same way field trip fees are paid.

If a book has been lost, paid for, and then found and returned in good condition within 14 days of paying the fine, a refund will be issued for the full amount.

Students with overdue books or outstanding fees for lost or damaged books will not be able to check out new materials until the fees are paid.

Auxier Library Book Check Out

  • Students may check out up to 3 library books, for a maximum of 2 weeks.
  • Students with good standing accounts may checkout books.  If your student still has library books or textbooks out from last year, they need to bring these back before checking out new materials.  If the books have been lost or damaged, please log in to Infinite Campus to pay the replacement cost.  If you have any questions at all, you can always call or email Mr. Bro in the library at 480-424-8401 or bro.william@cusd80.com.
Author Visit at Auxier
An author presents to an elementary school in the library

Thanks again for visiting Auxier Elementary School, Brandon Mull! 📚 Our media specialist planned a great week for young readers at CUSD during Read Across America Week.
